Our new home in the making.

Well, I don't have any new photos of the boys, but I do have a couple photos of our new home. Drywallers are almost done mudding and then we can start painting; this Wednesday. The siding is almost done (all, but the tall wall in the back; they have to bring in a lift. The cabinets for the kitchen and bathrooms were delivered and can be installed as soon as I finish my painting. Andy spent this past weekend finishing up the ceramice tile in 2 bathrooms. All that's left to tile is the master bath. The rest of the house is hardwood and it's already been delivered and is sitting in the garage waiting to be installed. We're almost there!

Oh, and Dane is just dying to type so here's his input.

I'll try to interpret for you....Trains, it's cold downstairs, I want M & M's, Drakie is sleeping, I want juice please. And that's all folks. I'll try to get some cute photos of the boys, but for now you'll have to settle for house pics.

It's a sad day

We lost another fish (that makes 3 so far). Yes, somehow mommy can raise boys (both of which are in diapers), but ask me to feed some gold fish daily and clean a tank weekly and I cannot fulfill my duty. I've tried to turn this into a "Circle of Life" lesson, but all it's doing is teaching Dane that it's fun to flush things down the toilet. I've managed to stop a q-tip going in the toilet, but the week is young. He now tells me that his one and only living fish is dead and that we should flush it too. *smile*

On the other hand Dane is gearing up for Mardi Gras!

On the Move

Everything is such an ordeal and I'm loving every minute of it. For every new thing that happens I'm right there with the camera taking pictures. So here it is everyone: Dane and Drake's 1st ride in the double stroller. Granted it was in a mall due to our ice storm and 20 degree weather, but none-the-less I've "captured the moment"! Dane has also taken a liking to Orange Julius. He now gets his own because we (neither Dane nor myself) like to share just one. *smirk*

It's so exciting!

It's exciting to be 5 months old!

Being 5 months old has never been so fun! We just started giving Drake cereal; you can see his excitement when he sees the spoon coming towards him.

Here's also a couple cute pictures taken this week. Dane playing with his favorite toy (Brio/Thomas the Train) and reading to his bears (notice they are both covered up by blankies-he's such a good daddy to his bears). And of course, Drake's doing what he does best: hanging out and taking it all in.

Monkey See, Monkey Do

It's official, Dane has made his daddy proud! Last week I was sitting on the couch feeding Drake and Dane climbs up next to me with his bear and says "I need to feed my bear". He then proceeds to lift his shirt and put his bear on his belly. Laughing inside I realize I have to praise him so I can get him to do this again in the evening when Andy returns home. Of course, Dane performed this several times for us. Oh, yes, Andy was proud and made some comments about how he hopes his son's future isn't ruined and how he's obviously traumatized, etc, etc. (smiling and nodding his head in disbelief the whole time). *smile*

We've had a pretty stressful week. Last Tuesday Drake was diagnosed with RSV. We've avoided hospitalization, however he still hasn't improved. Over the weekend Dane started getting sick and his fever started going up yesterday. At 4am this morning his fever was 104.1. Tylenol helps, but he is still not feeling good. The boys' pediatrician told me this morning Dane probably has RSV also, but not to bother bringing him in since there isn't a treatment for it unless it gets really bad.

We're all just kind of tired and slugs today. For those who've kept up with the saga of us building a house; we have a closing date of Feb 6th!
