What are you up to?

As I'm sitting at the computer writing the thankyou letter to Drake's doctor and his team for being so awesome (by the way after I sealed the envelope, Andy brought home the mail and we had a bill from him...figures!). So anyway, I hear Dane encouraging Drake and saying "Let's go down here." and "Hold my hand Drakie." "This will be fun." So I peaked my head out of the study and saw them going down the stairs. Dane was being helpful by holding Drake's hand so he wouldn't have to go down backwards. I have no idea what they did down there in the basement, but I went down later and Dane had turned all lights off when they came back upstairs. I have a suspicion Dane was checking out our "Christmas Train"; he likes to look and admire it every day or so.

Busy Spring week

We have been super busy. Here's our brief itinerary of last week and a few pics from our fishing trip to share our memories with you:

Monday: St. Louis Zoo
Tuesday: "D" boys went to Learning Center (I worked)
Wednesday: we went to the "Orange Park" and had a picnic
Thursday: it rained, we read LOTS of books and did puzzles and art work
Friday: Fishing with Grandpa (this time only caught 12; previous time had 23 fish)and then Graduation at my home-town...it was like a class reunion for me
Saturday: I worked, Andy set up the trampoline and that evening we went on a date to batting cages, mini golf and go-carts...fun for us!
Sunday: Church and then Six Flags immediately afterwards
Monday: picnic at park again ;)

Here we are loaded and ready to go fishing

Digging for worms!

On our way to the pond

Just settling down

1st catch of the day...way to go Dane!

Waiting patiently...kind of...Dane likes to bring his line in and recast it constantly...and he still catches more than Grandpa!

E I E I O

Early last Friday morning I was on my way to my Dad's farm to go fishing with Dane and Drake. I was listening to a radio show and a comedian came on and posed this question, "What is the sexiest farm animal?" To which he answered, "Brown chicken brown cow." Now, go back and read that with porn music in your head and THAT is how he said it.

Of course Dane says, "That's funny, brown chicken, brown cow!" To which I quickly turned off the radio and started singing "E I E I O...and on the farm there was a brown cow....."

How come he hears something like that, but not me asking him to say "excuse me" or remind him to go potty...

Happy Mother's Day...to ME!

Mother's day was a sweet day. I was presented with a home-made card from all my "boys" and a box of white powdered donuts (my favorite that I only let myself splurge on for special occasions). I was then informed by Dane that I could "share" them and it "will be okay if I do". I guess he DOES listen to me. *wink*

And when I went downstairs to let T-Bone out a huge poster was on our door with everyone's hands and foot prints (even T-Bone's) with pictures of everyone. Very sweet.

When we got home from church it was raining so my picnic was off, however Andy BBQ'd and did ALL the dishes...not one was left for me to do the next day! Very relaxing and wonderful. I couldn't help but get some shots of Dane and Daddy "Turkey Hunting" in our breakfast nook. Dane has on his hunting vest (more like a trench coat for him) and if you look closely you can see the cardboard picture of the turkey on the stairs.

Of course, I can't leave Drake out...here he is with the infamous orange hat that can't be left behind...sometimes even when he takes a nap it rests in the crib with him...sigh. I have an awesome husband and kids. *smile*

spring pics

ER visit anyone? On Friday evening (of course, why would it happen at 9am on a Monday!) while going outside to play, T-Bone got excited and knocked Drake down in the garage. Drake fell on the sensor which stops the garage door from going down if something moves in the way....no trip to the ER/Urgent Care, but gave me a scare. And of course our house medic (Andy) wasn't home. It quit bleeding pretty quick and Drake began to play, so I decided to stay home with them. Good choice; it's healing well.
Here's a couple cute pics of the boys enjoying our spring weather. Note the two of them trying to fit on the truck; now they both insist on doing what the other one is doing...all the time...constant battles. Funny to watch because it's rediculous! We've done tons of things, but I'm slacking on the camera shots. Most of the time it's when we're in the car that I realize I've forgot the camera.

Happy Cinco de Mayo
