Marching into February

So far February has been a great month.  We've continued with basket ball, had valentines day parties, 1 field trip and started swimming lessons.  I chaperoned Dane's 1st grade class to the Science Center.  Here they are walking in.....

I was paired with 4 kids...they were so well-behaved and curious about everything.  I love it:)
Posing by the planets....

Catching speeding cars with the radar guns....
The class picture with the dinosaurs.....

We have had some beautiful "winter" days and on President's day we took complete advantage of it.  We bundled up and went for a bike ride.
Then we jumped on the trampoline....look they're dressed alike...their idea
And then we had a picnic with our neighbor
While we were sitting there we noticed our BullsEye was resting in the sun too...but not for long, our dogs were going to check her out....
After our picnic they went for a walk in the creek.

Swimming lessons started.  Here they are anxiously waiting for their instructors.
Dane waiting to practice swimming on his back....
 Drake kicking and taking breaths....
We finally made it to the Penquin march at the Zoo.  It was cute, and they made all kinds of little noises as they walked by.  It was such a nice day and we spent the rest of the day there.  Again, not the typical Missouri winter weather in February.

The night before Valentine's day Dane snuck into our bathroom and hung a card for us to see in the morning.  He used his floss to hang it.  Trouble was I had to move it to get into the bathroom closet, but it's just like him to be so caring.

What's up next you ask?  I have no idea:)  I'm kind of training for the 1/2 marathon and Andy is in full training mode.  He's got Dane (and Drake depending on the day) training for the Ironkids competition this summer.  Dane is motivated....he rides his bike and then gets off of it and will run around to "train".  I have a feeling if he did the competition tomorrow, he would do fine.  I think Andy would as well, but he's not so confident.

January...still no snow:(

Our Chloe turned 2.  We celebrated the best way a doggie could celebrate....with dog-bone shaped meat slices.  She shared with T-Bone...but only because he butted his way in and helped himself.

Drake and I joined his preschool class at the library on Ground Hog day for Story Time.  He got to be one of the ground hogs who demonstrated what happens when they see sun or clouds.
Dane's 1st grade class did a power point presentation on the solar system.  Each child was given something to research and then they read their slide to us other astranauts.  The clothing was white...we all looked like a bunch of marshmellows...not astranauts.  I was really impressed with the knowledge and the amount of work these 1st graders did.  A power point!  In 1st grade!  Really?  My bachelor's degree is probably now equivilant to high school diplomas now.
We went to the Monster Jam again...it's our annual February treat for the boys.  They love it and of course the next day we go to the toy store and buy more monster trucks that we either don't have or they now "have to have" because they did a cool stunt at the show.

Basket Ball has started.  Here's Drake's first game.  He's #11.  Look at him go!  He's got the dribbling thing down.  Making baskets you ask?  Well, it's the beginning of the season, he's got time to practice his skills. :)

And here's Dane's first game.  He's the clear kid on the left.  Somehow my phone captured this picture.  It looks neat how it focused on the kids running and the rest is blurry.
Dane made the first basket in this game.  He's #6.  If you look closely you can see the basket in the net.
GO DANE!
I took a picture of each of them after their first game, but Dane was not so pleased...He was hot, tired and wanted his Gatoraide.
Dane has lost even MORE teeth.  Here's his toothless grin.  We will watch "Toothless" on How to Train a Dragon in honor of his new look for our Movie Night this Friday.
