Boo!

As always we've had a busy few weeks...so here's the run down on our October and our "goulish" ways.  I'll start you out with a few of our Halloween weekend meals:

worms in jello:
Eyeballs and bloody fingers:
Spider web cake...eek!
And....worms coming out of the dirt/mud:
This isn't just a kid's holiday at our house...we went to the costume dog parade.  Though our dogs wouldn't tolerate the hats and glasses so they wore their jackets.  Chloe sported her flannel vest with corduroy collar and T-Bone wore his patriotic hoodie.  The dogs got to trick-or-treat and so did the boys.  All in all a success:)
T-Bone celebrated his 12th Birthday.  We had his "party" on the 30th even though his actual b-day is on Halloween; I knew we were going to be a little busy that day.

We always have several trunk or treats to attend and this year was no different.
This one was at our subdivision.  This also included our chilli cook-off, bon-fire, jump house and hay ride.  We cover everything with our subdivision.  It's really a great place to raise our children.  Here they are posing on the wagon, waiting for the hay ride to start.

Our subdivision also gives out ribbons for "best" costumes.  Drake (red spider man) was cutest and Dane (black "venom" spider man) was best pair.  There was another black spider man...everyone goes home a winner!

This is the elementary trunk or treat.  This year it was HUGE.  Tons of cars and tons of candy.
And our last trunk or treat was at our church.  Our clown is actually Uncle Don; he made balloon animals for all the kiddos.
Of course I hit all the school parties as well.  This one is at Dane's 1st grade class.  Here he's waiting to play a game...the snack table is behind him.  Notice the back-pack.  It was also the day everyone dressed up as their favorite character from a book.  He was Jack from the magical tree house series.  His hat and glasses aren't on, but he kept the back-pack with dog peeking out on the whole day.
Dane playing the game...toss the hoop around the pumpkin.
And the craft table...that's his teacher kneeling down by the table.  2nd year in a row of having an awesome teacher.  It makes a world of difference in a child's experience:)
And Drake's preschool party...he decided to be a giraffe for the party.  Good thing I buy a bunch of costumes on clearance after Halloween.  That way they have many options for the next year and for dress-up through-out the year.
I also chaperoned Drake's preschool class to trick or treat at a nursing home.  Same day as his party, but he wanted to dress as an army man for this event.
All lined up and ready to go in.
And last but not least...our final begging for the season, we went to Rich and Heather's for actual trick or treating.  We always have fun there...so much fun that both boys cry and have a fit when we leave...too many fun and different toys at their house!  I made another goulish appetizer dish for this party, but didn't take a picture (deviled eggs that look like eye balls).
I must also include in this post the ceremony in which Dane received his award for getting 1st in the pumpkin run a couple weeks ago.
The Friday before Halloween school was out...I hope next year they plan these teacher meetings for the day after Halloween instead.   Anyway, we went to the Science Center and watched "Rescue" on the IMax and then of course visited the dinosaurs.  Drake dressed in his giraffe costume...again.  In case you can't tell or aren't familiar with this exhibit, it's a T-Rex roaring and an injured Triceratops laying next to it.  Both of the dinosaurs move and make noise.
This is most likely it until Christmas...I'm in my last class and it just started Monday...from the looks of it I will have no spare time (or sleep time) until my final on December 26th...so Happy Thanksgiving and I'll see you in a few.
Hugs from St. Louis,
Andy, Renee, Dane, Drake, T-Bone and Chloe.
