April Showers

And when it rains it POURS!
April is over tomorrow and I'm hoping for a little less chaos in May. Here's the short version: We moved April 1st, lost Tabitha (kitty) the next day. On Friday, April 13th Andy was in a car accident and totalled our vehicle. Thankfully he's just fine; he went to the ER to be sure, but came home a couple hours later. We picked up our new 2008 Dodge Avenger the following Wednesday and THEN the following Thursday I ran over our Dog, Zeke, coming home from work and then Andy had to shoot him. As Dane says "he's in the hole with kitty". This of course 1 week after he has $300 dollar surgery to remove a lump on his leg and two weeks after putting him on Buspar (an anti-anxiety pill!). Today Andy took off work to take Dane to the pediatrician because I found a lump on his inner thigh over the weekend...no biggie, it's just a swollen lymph noid, but still you have to check those things out. Whew, what a month. Tomorrow is May 1st right?

Despite the tragedies, we do have some good things going on. Dane is just a mile a minute with his vocabulary and every evening after dinner and before baths we go for a walk to the creek to "throw rocks in the water and get our feet cold". *smile* Drake is crawling, but is rapidly realizing he likes the view better from his feet so he pulls himself up on everything (even T-Bone) to practice his standing. He's already letting go and standing on his own. If we are close enough he'll turn around and take a free-handed step towards us. Yes, gates were put up on the stairs last week! And lets not forget to mention that we eat every lunch on the weekends and evening dinners on our covered deck off of the breakfast nook. Loving every minute of that. It's so peaceful out here.

I have lots of pictures to share with everyone...and as soon as I find the cord that allows me to download them to the computer I will...until then, I'm anticipating May Flowers!

We are finally in!

Hello everyone. We've moved. We've all had some adjusting to do and Tabitha (our Tom Cat) gave the ultimate sacrafice-he suffered a stroke/heart attack late Saturday night. I found him Sunday morning and as Dane says "Kitty died, mommy was sad, she cried." Dane talks about wanting to go back to our "other home" and says, "I want to go that way." pointing left as I go past our old exit on the interstate to our new house. When we went back to our old house to clean after we moved Dane said, "Put it back mommy." He was standing in his empty room and wanting his bed back in there. He's still at the age where he's easily re-directed, so I just start talking about his new blue room and Drake's new green room. It usually works *smile* Ever get the e-mail about goldfish having a 3-second attention span?...it's kind of like that!

Drake finally has his own room and sleeps in his own crib instead of the bassinet in our room or in our bed if I'm too lazy to put him back when I finish nursing him. The 1st night was a long one for everyone, but Dane who slept through everything. The 2nd night Drake woke up once at 3 am and went back to sleep after Andy gave him his pacifier. There is light at the end of the tunnel!

Andy has had alot on his plate; right now he's trying to finish getting the bedrooms carpeted; the boys' rooms are done. He's also working on getting shelving put in the pantry and linen closets. I hung a shower curtain rod in Dane's closet to hang their clothes on...so far it's only fallen once. Note to self, there's probably a weight limit on those things :)

I've been unpacking a couple boxes a day during nap times. Yesterday, though I didn't feel like working on the house so I took Dane and Drake to the Science Center. Since I thrive on organizing things, this hasn't been tough for me. I am absolutely loving organizing the rooms with the furniture and once the trim work is finshed being painted I'll hang all the pictures up. I don't like the packing and moving, but I enjoy the unpacking part.

T-Bone & Zeke have a big 3 acre lot to run on, but with all the rain we are mean and limit their play time outside; call us crazy, but we don't want our new hard-wood floor all muddy....yet.

Last weekend we got our picture taken with the Easter Bunny. And just like with Santa, Dane wouldn't let go of Daddy, so it became a family photo instead of just the boys. I'll send out pictures of our house when I locate the camera. Till then, Happy Easter.
